AcademicLabs has improved the “See Organizations per Country” view, providing a powerful way to map the full landscape of companies and organizations active in any topic of interest, broken down by country.
Available in every data category except Companies, the Organizations per Country view is accessed via the Organizations filter by clicking “See organisations per country.” This feature has proven particularly effective for competitive landscaping and identifying new startups across geographic regions.
For each country and organization, the view displays how many search results match the current query and filters, as well as how many results exist overall for that organization. For example, when searching for gene editing patents, users can see how many gene editing patents each organization holds alongside their total patent portfolio.
Users can sort organizations by number of results or alphabetically, filter to show only academic or non-academic organizations, and select specific organizations to narrow search results. This makes it easy to identify which institutions—whether biotech companies, universities, or hospitals—are most active in a specific research area within each country.
Business development teams use this view to identify potential partners or competitors in specific geographies. Research teams use it to find the most active academic groups working on their topic. Market analysts use it to assess the geographic distribution of innovation in a therapeutic area.
